The English Language Institute (ELI)
The English Language Institute (ELI) provides international students with the opportunity to learn English as a Second Language. The ELI is a university preparatory intensive English program focusing on developing academic skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing in the English language. In addition, the ELI welcomes students who wish to study only English and are not planning to enter an academic program. Credit bearing courses in oral communications, reading, writing and grammar are available to all students who are not native English speakers. Special projects such as English Immersion, English for Specific Purposes, Workplace and/or Business English can be designed and conducted by members of the ESL faculty.
The English as a Second Language (ESL) program allows students to improve in the areas they feel need it most, while also allowing them to take regular classes in an undergraduate degree program. This flexibility provides students with the most efficient transition into the JWU education. Three 11-week English language programs are offered during the academic year (Sep-May), as well as an 8-week summer program.
ESL Tuition for one term $ 5,531 (ESL term + Gen. Fee + Orientation Fee)
