Established in 1958, the Language Institute helps international students, professionals, and visitors improve their English proficiency. Total enrollment into GIT is 19,000 students per year. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the Institute offers many nationally recognized, top-ranked programs. Undergraduate and graduate degrees are offered in the Colleges of Architecture, Engineering, Sciences, Computing, Management, and the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts.
Participants:
Intensive English Program. As a student, you attend 20 hours of core classes a week in grammar, writing, reading, and speaking/listening taught by highly experienced faculty with advanced degrees. Because classes are small, with an average of 15 students, you receive individualized attention. Electives include: TOEFL preparation, GRE/GMAT preparation, vocabulary building, accent reduction, and moviemaking.
Evening Program offers six weeks polishing your English - both writing and speaking–through a program that: Offers convenient evening hours; has knowledgeable experienced instructors; is centrally located in Midtown Atlanta near the Midtown MARTA station; focuses on intermediate to advanced skill levels; develops your professional writing and speaking skills; helps build your confidence to use English in both professional and social settings; helps you get a better score on the iBT TOEFL exam.
