Intensive English Language Program. The University of New England operates on a semester calendar and offers 15-week terms in the fall and spring. Courses are offered during the summer on a limited basis. The ELS Language Center and New England School of English offer 4-week sessions beginning at 12 different times throughout the year. This means you can start your English training at a time that best suits your schedule.
The intensive English classes meet 20 hours per week and provide instruction in: Reading, Writing, Vocabulary, Grammar, Listening, Speaking, and Pronunciation. Students are expected to use the language laboratory and library for homework assignments and personal study for up to 10 hours per week. Class sizes range from 8 to 15 students per class.
