Oklahoma State University was founded in 1890. The total enrollment of the University is 42,000. It offers bachelor's, master's and doctor's degrees in a large number of fields, as well as the professional Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees. Specialist in Education degrees are also offered in selected fields.

Each student is placed in one of six levels on the basis of placement tests. The length of time necessary to complete the program depends on the student's English background, diligence, and motivation.

The English Language Institute is an intensive English program designed to help international students attain the English proficiency necessary to enter a college or university in the United States. It is also suitable for individuals who may wish to learn English for business or personal reasons. There is an average enrollment of seventy-five students from twenty-five to thirty different countries each semester. Programs can also be designed to meet the special needs of groups.
