The ELI is primarily a university preparatory intensive English program focusing on developing academic skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing in the English language. In addition, the ELI welcomes students who wish to study only English and are not planning to enter an academic program.
Credit bearing courses in oral communications, reading, writing and grammar are available to all students who are not native English speakers. Special projects such as English Immersion, English for Specific Purposes, Workplace and/or Business English can be designed and conducted by members of the ESL faculty.
Three 11-week English language programs are offered during the academic year (Sept-May), as well as an 8-week summer program.
