JCCC offers a full range of undergraduate credit courses that form the first two years of most college curricula. Courses are offered throughout the day and evening, on Saturdays and on Sunday afternoons, via computer and over the Internet. Telecourses are available on video-cassette or nightly and on weekends on Time Warner Cable, channel 17, or Comcast Cable, channel 22. Class size averages 25 to 30 students, which is much lower than at many larger colleges and universities. The college has more than 100 transfer agreements with regional colleges and universities, which assure admittance without loss of time or credit. JCCC is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the League for Innovation in the Community College. Individual college programs are accredited by associated professional organizations.

Participants:

English Program. The primary goals of the English Program are to: teach effective writing, help students develop critical thinking and research skills, promote a broadened world view through the study of literature, and foster collaborative learning. In support of these goals, the Program offers a broad range of introductory and intermediate college level courses in both writing and literature plus an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) initiative to provide additional preparation for Second Language English Learners before beginning college level courses. In addition to the traditional classroom format, the school offers self-paced composition classes and online classes in writing and literature.
