Loyola University was founded in 1912. Loyola is home to about 4,860 students. Participants:
Intensive English Program. In this course, the writing process is used for: choosing a topic, gathering ideas about the topic,organizing student's ideas, writing a draft of the paper, revising draft, editing written work, and publishing the paper. Students learn to locate and evaluate secondary source material and to incorporate it effectively into their writing. In addition, they review the elements of English grammar, giving special attention to the English verb system and to noun clauses, adjective clauses, and adverb clauses. Students increase the fluency of their writing with more advanced grammatical structures such as participial phrases and reduced adjective clauses. Class and homework activities include a wide range of writing projects, explanations by the instructor, drills and exercises with specific grammar structures, and quizzes and tests.
