Thunderbird’s Language and Culture Programs offer customized language, culture and negotiations programs specifically designed for the learning needs of executives. The programs provide highly intensive development that dramatically increases your ability to successfully conduct business in different countries and cultures. Thunderbird’s language, culture and negotiations faculty are among the best in the world.

Language Programs for Executives
Thunderbird provides development in various languages specifically geared towards the needs of business executives. Popular languages include Chinese, English as a Second Language, Spanish, and others upon request. Language programs typically total 25-30 hours per week. Cultural orientation to the country or geographical area of study can also be part of the language training (or conducted separately).

English as a Second Language
The custom English as a Second Language (ESL) programs provide tailored classes such as presentation skills, effective business writing, and technical writing for international executives. These courses are open to individuals who speak English as their native or non-native language.

English for Special Purposes
English for Special Purposes (ESP) programs are designed to meet the specialized needs of specific industries a person is conducting business in, such as hospitality, tourism, medical, banking, high technology and more. For example, a company may request to concentrate in specific vocabulary used by the pharmaceutical industry or other specialized industries.

Cross-Cultural Communication Programs
Necessity may be the best word to describe the role cross-cultural skills play in today's global business environment. Cross cultural skills development for individuals or groups can be conducted at one of the campuses or company's location. Programs vary in length from a few days to a week.
