MCCC was founded in 1972. The University enrolls nearly 13,000 students each year, international students representing more than 85 countries make up 5 to 6% of the student population. The average class size is 21. MCCC offers 64 degree program options and 48 credit certificate programs. The college is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and is authorized by the State of New Jersey's Commission on Higher Education to award associate degrees.
Credit ESL. The courses include ESL grammar, conversation, reading, writing and pronunciation. Computer-assisted instruction (CAI) is also available on both campuses.
Noncredit ESL. The noncredit ESL program at West Windsor Campus offers affordable noncredit grammar and vocabulary classes. The program is designed for students who want to improve their English proficiency but who are not enrolled in a degree program at Mercer.
The noncredit ESL classes, which are offered through the ESL / Foreign Language Learning Center, are available during the day, evening, and Saturday mornings. Classes are 60 hours of lessons based on a 15-week semester.
The English Language Institute (ELI) offers non-credit courses in English as a Second Language (ESL). Levels from Pre-Beginner to Advanced include "real-world" Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Grammar, Vocabulary, and Pronunciation.
Credit ESL. $239 per 1 credit hour
Noncredit ESL. From 6 to 20 hours per week (including language lab). $320 for 4 months
