CU was founded in 1830 by the Lutheran Church. Today, CU enrolls up to 3,632 undergraduate students, and employs 199 full-time and over 200 part-time faculty. Student to faculty ratio is 11:1.

Participants:

ESL program helps students build the skills they need to qualify for admission to a U.S. college or university and advance their international communication and business interests.

At Capital, there are three levels of ESL courses:
- Level 1 (low-intermediate)
- Level 2 (intermediate to high-intermediate)
- Level 3 (high intermediate to advanced)

Skills-based courses are offered at each level: Reading; Writing; Listening & Speaking; Grammar (sentence structure).
There are five admission dates per year. The ESL classes are small, so instructors can give plenty of personal attention to each student. All of the ESL instructors are native speakers of English with at least a master's degree and an average of more than 10 years of teaching experience. The school organizes cultural and community field trips throughout Columbus to give participants a richer understanding of how Americans live.

Tuition
The tuition rate for ESL courses is $127.50 per credit hour. Every ESL course is 5 credit hours ($637.50). A full-time student takes 4 courses, which costs $2,550 per term (8 weeks).
