The total enrollment is 3,000 students. The University offers 52 undergraduate majors and specializations. Students to teacher ratio is 13:1. Average class size is 19.

Participants:

English Language Institute offers general ESL or ESL BRIDGE PROGRAM. This are medium-sized programs of about 45 students. 4 levels of instructions are offered. Average class size is 12. 18 class-hours per week are provided. Weekly "Community Interaction" activities required of all students. Experienced teachers have Masters Degrees in Linguistics, TESOL, Education, English, a foreign language, or related field. All teachers have experience living and teaching abroad. It is easy to meet teachers outside of class, as well as easy to meet American students on campus. Free conversation partners and American tutors are available. Advanced ESL classes earn Pacific University credit. ELI Transition Program lets students mix ESL and undergraduate-level classes. Balance of general English and academic English classes. 

ESL Classes. Students will get 1.5 credits each semester for these classes. Their classmates are other international students.

ELI Transition Classes. These are special ESL classes that teach students how to succeed in an American-style university classroom

Undergraduate Classes with American students. If student's TOEFL score is iBT 61-69 (cBT 177-192, paper TOEFL 500-524), they will take one class. They will be given an American assistant for this class. Assistant will join the class with students and will help them understand the material. If student's TOEFL score is iBT 70-78 (cBT 193-212, paper TOEFL 525-549), they will take another class without an assistant. Students can get up to 9 Pacific University credits per semester for these classes. All classmates will be American Freshman students.
