The University was founded in 1898. Dallas Baptist University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.

The IEP is especially for International students who want to improve their English in order to enroll in a degree program at DBU. After successfully completing the IEP, you do not need a TOEFL score to enroll in credit classes at DBU.

Three to four levels of IEP classes cover fundamental English skills as well as university preparation. Classes meet from 9:00 to 4:00, Monday through Friday. 26+ hours of weekly intensive instruction are provided. There are fall and spring semesters of 16 weeks each and summer semester of 10 weeks. Class size generally between 8 and 13 students.
