Bellevue Community College was established in 1966. Today, BC enrolls 34,000 students annually. The College awards associate-degree transfer programs (the freshman and sophomore years of college) in 58 focus areas, professional and technical associate degrees and/or certificates in 87 areas of health science, information technology, business and design. Bellevue College is accredited as an associate degree-granting institution by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.

Intensive English / University Preparation (UP) is an AAIEP (American Association of Intensive English Programs), Certified Intensive English program. UP is a cost-effective and rigorous program of academic excellence. It offers six levels of English language training that bring learners up to proficient levels in speaking, reading, writing, listening, and grammar. After successful completion of this program and proof of English proficiency, students can directly transfer into Bellevue College academic credit classes. It takes 10 weeks (one quarter) to complete each level. You are expected to study at least four (4) hours a day from Monday through Friday, a total of 20 hours per week.
