West Virginia University was founded in 1867. The University is accredited by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and dozens of specialized academic accrediting agencies. WVU enrolls 28,840 students from all 55 WV counties, 49 states, the District of Columbia, 2 Territories (Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands) and 99 Nations. The University consists of 15 colleges and schools, which offers 185 bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and professional degree programs in the arts and sciences; business and economics; creative arts; engineering and mineral resources; human resources and education; journalism; law; agriculture, forestry, and consumer sciences; dentistry; medicine; nursing; pharmacy; physical education; plus the WVU Honors College and programs at Potomac State College.
Participants:
Intensive English Program. It is a year round program. 16 week sessions beginning in January and August are offered, as well as 6 week sessions beginning in May and July. Minimum of 21 hours of instruction are offered to small classes of students. There are beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Core curriculum includes listening comprehension, speaking, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary. Elective courses include TOEFL preparation, TOEIC preparation, Business English, English through Technology, US Popular Culture and English through Drama. Institutional TOEFL and TOEIC offered at the middle and end of each semester
