A public university with 13,500 students, Western Illinois University has the advantages of a large university at a modest price. It is ranked among the 150 best value undergraduate colleges in the US by the Princeton Review. The school offers 57 undergraduate degree programs, 36 graduate degree programs, 13 Pre-professional programs, and new Ed. D. program. One faculty member for every 17 students. WIU is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. The WIU College of Business and Technology is accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business.


Participants:

Advanced ESL Courses: popular short-term ESL programs available, advanced pronunciation, advanced written & spoken grammar, advanced English for academic purposes. 

Three class levels and 20 hours of instruction per week in reading, writing, listening and speaking are available. An average class size is of 14 students. ESL instructors have graduate degrees and special training in teaching English as a second language, and an average of 12 years experience teaching at the WESL Institute. All instructors understand the special needs of WESL students; all have lived and studied in other countries. Dual Program available for advanced-level students who meet WIU admission requirements

Besides, Western Illinois University offers:
     - English training for groups of students interested in short-term programs involving part-time ESL study and part-time academic work in other subjects.
     - Short-term ESL programs for groups of students any time of year ranging from four to twelve weeks designed to meet specific academic, social, and cultural needs.
     - Job-related ESL courses designed to meet the professional development needs of employees who want to improve their English skills.
     - Short-term programs integrate academic content with skill building in English by combining textbook lessons and teacher-written materials.  
     - Short-term programs promote understanding of American culture and include exchanges with American students in university classes as well as opportunities to meet professors.
