Dominican University was founded as St. Clara College in Sinsinawa, WI in 1901 by the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters of the Most Holy Rosary. In 1922 it was relocated to its current location in River Forest, IL.
University's beautiful main campus is located in River Forest, just 10 miles west of downtown Chicago. It also offers classes in 12 other locations to make the programs as accessible as possible.
DU is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools as a baccalaureate and master’s degree granting institution. The school enrolls 4,000 students. The school offers more than 50 academic programs, nine pre-professional programs and four graduate schools in library and information science, business, education and social work.
