The University of Evansville was established in 1854. UE is a fully-accredited, private, liberal arts and sciences based university affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Total enrollment is 2,600, students from 40 states and 54 countries are represented on campus. Average class size is 18 students.

Intensive English Center offers Intensive English Program for those who need to improve their English skills for academic, professional, or personal reasons. It is a multi-level, full-time program of 20 contact hours per week. Daily courses are Listening & Speaking Development; Grammar Skills; Reading Development; Writing Skills; Language Lab; TOEFL Preparation.

English Language Courses are credit courses. They are designed to further enhance proficiency at an advanced level. Nine hours of English language courses will apply toward graduation requirements at UE if the student's program of study permits free electives. Courses are offered in: Pronunciation and Listening Comprehension; Academic Conversation and Discussion; Reading Development; Advanced Reading; Fundamentals of ESL Composition; Advanced ESL Composition.
