English Today Program is designed for individuals who desire a combination of classes and activities to make the most of their summer in Boston.

Core Course - 2 hours, 15 minutes - discover the key to effective communication in English. Experienced teachers help students strengthen their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in small classes (up to 14 students), each grouped by ability from High Beginner to Advanced.

Elective Course - 1 hour, 15 minutes - gain confidence and ease with English as students concentrate on issues that are of interest to them. Topics include: Current Events; American Idioms and Culture; History and Culture of Boston and TOEFL Preparation.

Discover American Excursions - Wednesday afternoons. The Tufts English Language Programs are innovative in the way they combine classroom material with real-life experience. Tufts instructors will accompany students on Discover America excursions, which bring students to important American institutions like an active court room, historical museums, and a stroll down Boston's Freedom Trail. Each 6-week student is required to participate in two Discover America excursions. 4-week students are required to participate in one Discover America excursion.

Afternoon Intensive Option - maximize students' study time in the U.S. in a supportive learning environment four days a week. In the Afternoon Intensive Option, students concentrate on skills such as: pronunciation, speaking, vocabulary, note-taking, writing skills, negotiation, cross-cultural communication.

Summer Intensive Program.
Academic Speaking Course – 1 hour, 45 minutes - develops and perfects student's language skills for teamwork, discussions, debates, and other verbal interactions. Grammar and pronunciation instruction adapted to meet their skill level. (Average: 10 students per class).

Research Writing Course – 1 hour, 45 minutes. Construct a graduate-level research paper. Students meet with their writing instructor to receive individual feedback, and do exercises to strengthen listening, note-taking, writing, and seminar presentation skills. (Average: 10 students per class)
