Salem State College enrolls approximately 8,790. The School offers 824 Baccalaureate, 321 Masters degrees and 19 Post Masters Certificate programs. The Center for International Education coordinates international education activities at Salem State College, and takes the leadership role on campus to promote global awareness and teaching.


Participants:

English as a Second Language. 
Integrated Skills. 9 hours/week $920 (12w) $470 (6w). Practice in all skill areas. Emphasis is placed on grammar and on listening and speaking strategies for academic study and for professional and everyday contexts. Activities include discussion and oral presentations.

Reading and Writing.
6 hours/week $610 (12w) $320 (6w). Practice in reading and writing. Emphasis is placed on reading strategies, comprehension and response and writing strategies including brainstorming, revising and editing. Activities include reading short stories, articles and novels and writing essays and journals.

Elective Classes. 6 hours/week $610 (12w) $320 (6w). World Tales (Students will read selections from folk literature of world cultures. They will examine the similarities of the human condition and the cultural nuances presented with each section.) and Communications Skills (Listening and conversation skills and practice, including lectures, television, radio excerpts and presentation skills).

Elective Classes +. 4 hours/week $410 (12w) $210 (6w). Basic English (Vocabulary, conversation skills and practice; for beginning students. May include field trips to learn American culture) and TOEFL Preparation (Preparation for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam. Emphasis is placed on reading, listening and grammar strategies. Activities include exercises and practice exams).

Tuition
$40 Application fee (non-refundable) payable by check or money order
In addition to tuition, students enrolled in 9 or more hours per week will be charged:
$150 college fee for 12 week program
$75 college fee for 6 week program
