St. Charles Community College was founded in 1989. Now the school provides community-based classes, workshops, seminars, and events and develops educational partnerships with schools, colleges, businesses, agencies, and institutions. The total enrollment of SCC is nearly 11,000. Student/Faculty Ratio is19:1. Average class size is 20. St. Charles Community College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Participants:

English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for non-native speakers are available for all proficiency levels. These classes help beginning, intermediate, and advanced students improve English skills in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding (listening). The classes are directed at improving English conversational skills for home and workplace literacy. New students are required to register and attend orientation before attending classes. Registration and orientation are offered on Tuesday mornings and evenings or by appointment.  An initial assessment is provided for placement in the appropriate class level.
