Texas Tech University was founded in 1923. The University consists of 11 Colleges. TTU enrolls over 28,000 students from every county in Texas, all 50 states and more than 90 foreign countries. The University offers 150 undergraduate degree programs through 11 academic colleges, a graduate school and a school of law. Besides, it offers more than 100 master’s degree programs and over 50 doctoral degree programs.

Participants:

Intensive English Program. Year-round program. 6 terms per year. Beginning to advanced levels. 20 class hours per week. The Program is a member of AAIEP. TOEFL and Michigan Test available. Placement test is given for new students. The students in the Intensive English Program come from many different countries and backgrounds. Students from over 70 different countries have participated in the IEP. Some students come to prepare for their studies at American universities, while other students come to learn English for business purposes or to help them pursue their careers.

The IEP provides various levels of English instruction from beginning to advanced as well as a university/career prep level. You will be tested at the beginning of your studies to determine your command of the language and placed at a learning level appropriate to your proficiency. Class size is limited to provide intensive, individual attention. Many different teaching styles are using in the Intensive English Program, including computer aided instruction. Some classes utilize the Internet in the classroom. Students normally spend four hours a day, five days a week in classes. Regular attendance is required. The curriculum is designed to develop oral and written English skills. Instruction is provided in: Composition; Oral Skills; Grammar; Reading and Vocabulary; TOEFL Preparation.

Summer sessions are four weeks. All other sessions are 7 weeks.
