The University enrolls more than 28,400 students. UTSA offers 64 bachelor's, 46 master's and 21 doctoral degree programs. The University of Texas at San Antonio is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, master’s, and doctorate degrees.

Participants:

English Language Program provides academic ESL instruction and cultural orientation for English language learners who are interested in pursuing degrees at the University of Texas at San Antonio or other US institutions or who are interested in improving their English proficiency for professional reasons.

The IEP offers small classes (8 –15 students per class); experienced, trained professional ESL instructors; computer lab for Reading and Writing classes; internet access; library privileges; at least 21 hours instructional hours each week; institutional TOEFL tests twice a semester. During the 14-week fall and spring semesters, classes are conducted 21 hours per week. During the 10-week summer semester, classes are conducted 30 hours per week.

The Intensive English Program (IEP). The Intensive English Program is a 14-week course. Students study 24 hours per week in a range of ESL subjects that include 1) Writing/Grammar 2) Reading/Vocabulary 3) Oral Communication 4) TOEFL Test Preparation and 5) Culture class. IEP classes are open to any student who is a high school graduate, over 17 years of age and is someone who has a strong desire to work hard in order to learn English. Our IEP classes do have a very academic focus

English for International Students (EIS) Courses. EIS classes are credit ESL courses open to foreign students attending UTSA. If students have a TOEFL score of 500-600 (paper test), they must take an English Language Placement test to see if they need to take EIS courses.
