OSU was established in 1873. The University enrolls 61,568 students annually on all its campuses. It offers 167 undergraduate majors, 130 master's degree programs, 103 doctoral degree programs, 7 professional degree programs and around 12,000 different courses. The Ohio State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA).

The American Language Program has provided English-as-a-second-language instruction to thousands of students from around the world, representing more than 125 countries. 

Intensive English – full-time courses which meet 20 hours per week, for those who wish to make fast progress and who are able to devote themselves to an intensive schedule. Admission to the Intensive English program includes the form I-20 for a student visa, if needed.

Non-credit classes – late afternoon and evening classes on a variety of English language topics for members of the central Ohio community. 25 hours of instruction (two classes per week for five week, or one class per week for ten weeks. Small class size (8-12 students), with an emphasis on communication, in-class practice, and individual attention.

The Graduate Preparation Program is an intensive summer course for students who have already been admitted for graduate study at Ohio State or another university and who wish to further improve their English and related academic skills before they begin their graduate program. 16 hours of classes each week. Emphasis on developing strong speaking and listening skills that will help prepare you for success in your graduate study. Advanced reading and writing and general academic skills are also highlighted. Small classes (8-12 students) permit interaction and communicative language learning.

Classes for the OSU student – supplemental support classes for students in undergraduate and graduate programs at Ohio State who desire additional English language instruction along side their academic coursework. Courses: High-Intermediate Listening/Speaking - 4 credit hours; Understanding English Pronunciation - 2 credit hours; High-intermediate Grammar - 4 credit hours; Advanced Grammar - 4 credit hours; Advanced Integrated Skills - 12 credit hours.

Tuition:
$5,167, plus required health insurance of $479.
part-time fees are not fixed per credit but on a sliding scale.
