The University graduates students with highly-valued degrees. During the regular session California State University, Long Beach is as large as a small city. More than 33,000 students, nearly 2,000 faculty and 1,600 professional staff members study and work on campus each week. In order to operate, the campus has been organized into eight colleges and many academic departments and programs.
Participants:
Intensive English Program. This program is offered three times a year: Fall, Spring, and Summer. In each session, the curriculum emphasizes preparation for academic work at a college or university. Small, interactive classes are taught by a well-qualified faculty. Students may begin in any of the three sessions and continue year-round. One session lasts from 12 weeks (summer) to 15 weeks (Fall and Spring) and must be completed successfully to advance to the next level. At the end of each session, certificates are awarded at a term-end ceremony to those who have completed the level with passing grades

Practical English Program – emphasizes conversational English. Even though a person don't have a long time-only 3 weeks-he/she will have a very valuable experience. Both July and August sessions include 20 hours of English classes per week as well as trips and activities. Individuals, small groups and large groups are welcome.

The ESL Specialist Program is a language acquisition based tutoring program designed to help students improve their English language skills in order to pass the Writing Proficiency Exam (WPE). Tutoring is offered only on a referral basis.
The total nonresident tuition fee charged a student in an academic year will not exceed $10,170.00. Those students who are not a resident of California , must add $339 to the above totals for each unit of credit they take.
