Since 1978, Cuyamaca College has provided a solid education to students, whether they’re beginning their university degree at Cuyamaca, returning to school to launch a career or to acquire new skills or enrolling in an innovative occupational program. Cuyamaca College offers a wide scope of challenging courses, from drafting technology and child development to paralegal training, from computer and information science or ornamental horticulture to automotive technology. With 49 degree programs and 46 certificates offered at Cuyamaca College, learning opportunities abound under the tutelage of highly-qualified, dynamic instructors imbued with a love of teaching. The college also provides English as a Second Language as part of their degree or certificate programs to all students who need to improve their English skills.

Participants:

English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are designed to improve: Reading English, Writing English, English Grammar, Listening and Speaking skills.

The ESL program is divided into 4 levels. Students should see a counselor to select additional courses in other areas for which their language skills will be acceptable.
     - Level 1- Basic college ESL
     - Level 2 - Low Intermediate college ESL
     - Level 3 - High-intermediate college ESL 
     - Level 4 - Advanced college ESL

Students will receive an "ESL Certificate of Completion" when they complete ESL Level 4 with a grade of "C" or better or “Pass”.

Most classes are 3 units.
