El Camino College has 9 Academic Divisions which comprise over 75 academic programs. Each division offers a comprehensive transfer, degree or certificate program.

The El Camino College Language Academy is committed to ensure international students success in meeting their educational goals through intensive study of English for Academic purposes. The Academy is an academic based program that will provide you with the skills to continue your American education. The ECLA program does not require a TOEFL score. A student may apply for either fall semester, spring semester or summer session.

Participants:

English as a Second Language Program. The program consists of 20 hours a week of class time with community college instructors. Classes include: Conversation, Reading, Grammar, Writing, American Culture and TOEFL Preparation. This program also consists of campus events, lunch parties and field trips. 30 lessons per week of classroom instruction and practice in all key language skills: speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading and writing. Program completion is accepted by nearly 600 universities, colleges and career schools in place of the TOEFL. 

The Intensive English Course consists of up to twelve levels – Beginning to Advanced to the Masters Levels. Before classes begin, you are tested to determine your ability to speak, understand and write English. Placement in levels is based on these tests. Each four-week session, you are evaluated for promotion to the next level.

Semi-Intensive English Program. 20 lessons of instruction per week, with emphasis on communication skills and the practice of everyday English. Designed for individuals who want maximum learning opportunities in the classroom and more time to explore their surroundings and practice English outside the classroom. Twelve levels of instruction from Beginning to Masters. There are 26 start dates annually.
