National University was founded in 1971 and consists of five schools and one college, including the Schools of Business and Management, Education; Engineering and Technology, Health and Human Services, Media and Communication and the College of Letters and Sciences. The school offers 100 undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as 22 teacher credential and certificate programs. It is a leader in online education, while offering more than 50 graduate and undergraduate degree programs and over 1,200 courses online.

National University is a member of the American Association of Intensive English Programs (AAIEP), the Association of International Educators (NAFSA), and Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Participants:

Conversation and American Culture. This is a special, short-term vacation program designed for groups or individuals who want to improve their English conversation skills and learn more about American culture. Classroom instruction is combined with various social and recreational activities, emphasizing the study of American culture and lifestyle. The program has three to four hours of instruction per day. All students who enroll in this program are official students of National University. 

English Communication Program. This program is designed for individuals who want to improve their English communication skills for purposes of professional advancement or simply for personal enjoyment. This program focuses on developing fluency in listening, speaking, and reading along with writing and grammar. Classroom instruction is combined with various social and recreational activities. Designed for beginning, intermediate and advanced level students. The program provides 100 hours of instruction per month.

University Preparation Program. Intensive English. An intensive program designed for high school graduates, university students and professionals who are: planning to enter undergraduate or graduate degree programs at National University or another U.S. college or university; preparing for the TOEFL or other examinations with an English language section; improving their English skills for professional or career growth.

National University is now offering online and onsite English Language Programs. With one-course-per-month format, students are using their new English skills fast. The English Language Programs are designed to meet the needs of international students, visitors and professionals. Program features: small class sizes; courses start every month; online courses are flexible and accessible at anytime, day or night, from anyplace with an Internet connection; University Preparation Program waives the TOEFL requirement for entrance into National University's graduate and undergraduate degree programs; a wide-range of courses from TOEFL preparation and accent reduction to the intensive TESOL Professional Certificate program designed to prepare individuals who have an interest in pursuing a successful career teaching English in the U.S. and abroad.
