Students at the Lowell campus can get a degree or just upgrade their education and skills. The campus offers a wide range of Associate degree and certificate programs, courses on campus and through online learning. Programs are also offered during the day and evening. Many programs include hands-on experience and internships. The College offers the education students need to succeed at a price they can afford.


The Lowell campus offers a range of intramural and competitive sports programs and events. Students may participate in basketball, dance, martial arts, soccer, volleyball programs.


The Lowell campus of MCC offers housing and dining services to all its students. It also offers parking area for day students to park at the Early Garage on Middlesex Street only. And free evening parking is available at the Lower Locks Garage (Warren Street), the Roy Garage (Market Street) and the Early Parking Garage (Middlesex Street). Unlike students, faculty and staff must display a parking decal on their cars to park at Middlesex. Students can get to the campus using many transportation options. The Lowell campuses is accessible by local and regional municipal bus service – with assistance from our FREE MCC Shuttle Bus Service. The Lowell Regional Transit Authority (LRTA) provides bus service from the Kennedy Bus Transfer Station at Gallagher Intermodal Transportation Center to the city of Lowell. Carpooling is also available. Special parking spaces are reserved on each campus for cars with three or more passengers. The ride-sharing programs are also offered.


Lowell campus has five buildings. The City Building include classrooms, offices and the cafeteria. Situated directly across the street from City Building, the historic Federal Building houses library and public assembly hall, a student lounge area, classrooms, a visual arts room, computer labs and more. There is also the Health, Science & Technology Center that is located on nearby Middle Street. This center houses the Middlesex Dental Clinic, classrooms, laboratories and the Nursing Learning Center. The Cyber Center is located across the bridge from MCC’s City Building on Merrimack Street, housing the college’s Self-Paced Learning Center and the MCC Theatre. Moreover, the college also maintains the historic John Nesmith House at 229 Andover Street, which is supported by the MCC Foundation. It houses the Lester J. Grant Center for Economic Development and the Elkin B. McCallum Center for International Studies.

Health & Safety

The Lowell campus of Middlesex Community College is responsive to students' needs through services and health awareness education programs. These programs are designed to help students achieve their personal and academic goals in a safe and healthy campus environment. The College Health Service explores new strategies that will provide opportunities for students to learn about a variety of health issues. It also encourages students to adopt good health practices and develop a positive attitude toward health. The campus also offers health related screenings such as vision, hearing, diabetes/blood glucose, height, weight and blood pressure. Health insurance is also available to students.


There is the Office of Student Life and Activities at the Lowell campus. It offers leadership development programs, co-curricular activities, and student organizations. Students are involved in many activities to enhance leadership skills and participate in clubs, events and student government. Clubs may consist of 5 or more students who meet regularly to program activities based on their goals and interests. Any student may join such clubs as: ACC - African Cultural Club, Community Action Team, Compassionate Cannabis Coalition, International Club, Latinos Unidos Club, New Life Discovery, Radio, Spectrum, Veterans, World Readers. But there are also clubs dedicated to expanding knowledge and professional experience in their specific academic or specialized fields. They are: Dental Assisting, Elite Fashion Association, Nursing, Performing Arts. The following are oportunities for student involvement in specialized areas. They are: The Core Commitments, Food for Thought, Global Awareness Project, International Fellowships, Multicultural Programming, One World Series, On the Road, Seasons of Service, Student Achievement in Leadership, Suga Internship.


The Lowell campus can offer off-campus housing to its students as there are numerous off-campus apartments within a reasonable commuting distance.

Alumni & Post-Grad

Alumni at the Lowell campus stay involved in the college community and remain connected with fellow graduates. It encourages graduates to serve as a Middlesex career mentor, assist with student recruitment, participate on college committees, and support MCC Foundation initiatives. Aumni may attend many college lectures, musical performances and plays throughout the year free of charge. Campus libraries and bookstores are also offered free of charge for them.

Jobs & Internship

With the help of career services offered at the Lowell campus, graduates can find a job placement. The campus offers programs and activities to help and support enrolled students and alumni in learning about appropriate and satisfying careers, enabling them to participate more fully in a global society. Career services offer graduates a place to begin exploring their ideas about potential majors and careers, assist students in researching and preparing for careers and specific occupations. Graduates are provided with resources to test their career ideas through informational interview, internships, part-time, and summer employment. These services connect them with a wide variety of area employers through on-campus recruiters and job fairs. Students may find here an updated listing of employment opportunities including part-time, full-time, and internship positions.
