Academics

The programs of study are intended to be used as a guide for students choosing program, course, and degree options at Butler Community College. To acquire a “major” designation on the transcript for Associate of Arts A.A., Associate of Science A.S. and Associate of Applied Science A.A.S. degrees, the student must successfully complete the courses as outlined in the program of study. The programs of study for the Associate of Applied Science A.A.S. degree and certificate programs are required programs of study.

Athletics

The school mascot is the grizzly bear, colors are purple and gold, and sports teams include cross country, football, basketball (men and women), track, women's soccer, volleyball, baseball, and softball, as well as a spirit squad.

Campus

There are three housing areas at Butler Community College: the apartments, which house eight residents per unit or 32, the West Hall which houses 102 men in a two per room format, and the East Hall, which houses 113 men and women and has two people to a room and four to a suite, and Cummins Hall houses 130 females. The halls house 377 students. The West and East Halls are further divided by floor and section. In Butler Comminity College students are responsible for providing their own TV cable cord and trash bags in all hall rooms. In the halls with suite style bathrooms, students must also provide their own toilet paper and cleaning supplies. There is a Food Service Team consisting of the Director of Food Services, residence hall students, residence hall staff, and administration. Regularly scheduled meetings are held if permission is granted by the college. Students' likes and dislikes, the menu pattern, and matters pertinent to the food service operation will be discussed. Here, cafeteria style of service is used for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering self-service salad bar and vegetable table in unlimited amounts; entrees are served in existing cafeteria line in unlimited amounts with the exception of steak night.

Facilities

Butler College has a rich and up-to-date library facilities. Besides, it extends library services to include Andover, McConnell AFB, Butler of Rose Hill, and Butler of Flint HillsCollege Library book collection and journal articles provide plenty of choices for students' academic research. During the study process in the library students have a chance to enjoy coffee, smoothies, and snacks from the Library Latte coffee bar. DVDs check out for a week, special collections of children's books, Pioneer Women literature, Marianne Koke Folk Arts music and art, graphic novels, and Wii games are available. Computer Lab are available for students in East Hall and West Hall. They are open a24 hours a day. Quiet hours are observed at all times in these areas. All Butler students, staff, faculty, administrators, and members of the communities Butler College serves are defined as qualified users of the college web site. Health & Safety

Students are required to show documentation of the following immunizations: two MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) shots, current Tetanus shot, and Meningococccal Vaccine for living in the residence halls. International students transferring from another college must have all of tests taken and read bringing the documentation with them when they arrive to the halls. In case of coming from another country, the TB skin test must be taken the first business day here. International students can move into the residence halls if they have a positive TB skin test and a documented negative chest x-ray within the last 5 years. Safety and security of students, faculty, staff and visitors is the primary goal of the Butler Community College Public Safety and Security Department. It partners effectively with all College Stakeholders to help prevent crime and unsafe conditions from occurring within the College Community. All College community members have the responsibility to promptly report observed or suspected criminal behavior and unsafe conditions. In case of a serious emergency or disaster that would interrupt the normal college operations including classes.

The Alumni Association provides information about the college, a contact person for a certain department, it gathers classmates together or is searching for a friend that a person went to school with. Everyone who has attended Butler are considered its.

Jobs & Internship

Career Services assists students in finding jobs while pursuing their degrees or upon completion of a program. Besides, it assists employers who wish to post job listings on Butler's Online Career Center or arrange on-campus visits. Center services provided to students include viewing job listings posted on Butler's Online Career Center, assistance in planning their job search, resume development and improving interviewing skills.
