The Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.


The Schuylkill Center offers programs approved by the Department of Education of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Programs include Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Master of Education, Master of Business Administration, Dual Degree, Graduate Certificate in Criminal Justice, Education, Business and some other areas of study.


University competes under the protection of the National Collegiate Athletic Association as well as in the Eastern College Athletic Conference. The Crusaders compete at the Division III level, the largest NCAA competing level. Students may choose from the following kinds of sport Baseball, basketball, Cross Country Running, Field Hockey, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Volleyball.


Alvernia University maintains five distinctive kinds of residential living-learning environments. The University offers housing to full-time matriculated single students only. The main dining hall, located on the first floor of the Student Center, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Friday, and brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. University committed to offering you a wide variety of dining options at every meal. Kestrel Cafe, Courtside Cafe, Upland Center Cafe serves students during daytime and evening hours.


Alvernia library maintains a collection of nearly 100,000 print, audiovisual and computer materials; it contains almost 900 periodicals with almost 200 current subscriptions. Each year the library adds approximately 2000 volumes in a variety of formats. Computer labs, gyms, wireless internet access is also available for students throughout the campus.

Health & Safety

The Health & Wellness Center offers medical services to students Monday-Friday from 9:00-12:00 PM and 1:00-4:00 PM. The Center is staffed by a board certified Family Physician and a registered nurse and the Reading Hospital Family Practice Residents. Those students who don't feel well, should simply call or stop by the Health & Wellness Center to set up an appointment.


Over 50 student groups, including intramural and intercollegiate sports, academic clubs, honor societies, student government, and faith-based, arts, environmental, and service clubs. The Multicultural Initiatives Office, located in the Center for Student Life, welcomes and supports students from all backgrounds, promotes understanding, unity and appreciation of the growing diversity of our campus, affirming the inherent value and dignity of each person, regardless of race, gender differences, national origin or religion.


Alvernia University Schuylkill Center offers assisting in locating off-campus housing. The following off-campus housing may be very conveniently close to campus Denver Valley Estates, Brecknock Township, Antietam Arms Apartments, Spruce Court, three bedroom house for rent in Birdsboro, Heritage Amity Commons, Lincoln Park Apartments and others. Evening time is good to spend it in bars, cafes, clubs, taverns and pubs.

Online alumni community provides graduates with opportunity to find out about upcoming events,stay up-to-date with the latest organization news, join groups, maintain your personal profile, and much more. Alvernia University Alumni Association members have a lot of benefits among which: insurance discounts, tuition discounts, free use of fitness center, bookstore discount, use of Career Center, mortgage discounts and some other privileges.

Jobs & Internship

The career services office, staffed by career development professionals, is always ready to assist students and alumni in all phases of occupational exploration, career planning, and job seeking. Internships provide students with practical knowledge of professional environments within their majors, offer networking opportunities, and the chance to clarify their choice of major.
