The Philadelphia Center offers flexible scheduling with evening and weekend classes, approved by the Department of Education of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools programs which include Bachelor of Arts (Advanced Professional Studies, Behavioral Health Studies, Criminal Justice Administration), Master of Art (Community Counseling) and Master of Arts in Liberal Studies for Community Leadership.


University competes under the auspices of the National Collegiate Athletic Association as well as in the Eastern College Athletic Conference. The Crusaders compete at the Division III level, the largest competing level of the NCAA. Students may choose from the following kinds of sport Baseball, basketball, Cross Country Running, Field Hockey, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Volleyball.


On-campus living options include traditional residence halls, suite-style apartments, and townhouses. All residences have phone, cable TV, and high-speed Internet access. The main dining hall, located on the first floor of the Student Center, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Friday, and brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. University committed to offering you a wide variety of dining options at every meal. Kestrel Cafe, Courtside Cafe, Upland Center Cafe serves students during daytime and evening hours.


Library has a collection of almost 100,000 print, audiovisual and computer materials, also it contains almost 900 periodicals with approximately 200 current subscriptions. Library adds nearly 2000 volumes in a variety of formats each year.

Health & Safety

The Health and Wellness Center provides quality emotional and medical care to student population, to promote an environment that encourages individuals to maximize their physical, emotional and spiritual wellness, and to empower students to make healthy choices regarding their lifestyle. The Health and Wellness Center is opened from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday-Friday.


Over 50 student groups, including intramural and intercollegiate sports, academic clubs, honor societies, student government, and faith-based, arts, environmental, and service clubs. The Multicultural Initiatives Office welcomes and supports students from all backgrounds, it also promotes understanding, unity and appreciation of the growing diversity of campus, affirming the inherent value and dignity of each person, regardless of race, gender differences, national origin or religion.


Alvernia University Philadelphia Center provides students assisting in locating off-campus housing. Evening time is high time to visit bars, Cajun/Creole, American (Traditional) pubs, pubs, music venues, nightclubs, restaurants, bars, karaoke bars and other places of entertainment.

Alumni & Post-Grad

Alvernia alumni online community helps graduate students stay up-to-date with the latest organization news, find out about upcoming events, join groups, maintain personal profile, and much more. Former students are also provide with alumni benefits such as tuition discounts, insurance discount, free use of Fitness Center, bookstore discount, use of career center, mortgage discount and some others.
