Minneapolis Community and Technical College offers a wide range of innovative career and occupational programs. Students may choose day, evening, Saturday classes. The College offers Associate degrees, diplomas and certificates that are available to meet students' goals and aspirations. Programs provide students with the qualifications they need to gain employment in high demand fields when they graduate.

Minneapolis Community and Technical College has a gymnasium that provides adequate space for physical education. It also serves to support intercollegiate athletics and other student life activities. This special-use facility is safe and clean. All students can visit it.

MCTC has a parking area available for students, staff, faculty and visitors to the campus. This parking ramp is not a public parking facility, and parking permits are required for parking during normal business hours, Monday through Friday before 4:30 p.m. All parking operation costs and facility costs associated with the operation and maintenance of parking lots and ramps must be paid. To improve the campus facility, the College has a Culinary and Dining facility project for students.

The MCTC has a library for students use. This library participates in the academic mission of the college through its instructional program in information studies, reference service and training, and its collection and organization of materials in support of the curriculum. There are also computer labs. But students must follow the rules when using the computer labs.

Health & Safety

Minneapolis Community and Technical College offers health care services on campus to all its students enrolled at Boynton Health Service for MCTC Students. There they may get treatment for a common illness, STI or pregnancy testing or a preventative medical exam. Most services are available at no out-of-pocket cost to students. Enrolled students automatically pay the Student Life fee. Enrolled students do not need health insurance to use on-campus health care services.

Different students study at the MCTC. For example, for the academic year 2009-10, more than 45% of MCTC students were from another countries, 54% were female and 43% were low income. They all are involved in different activities while studying. The College allows all students to expand their academic experience beyond the classroom offering many organizations and clubs to join. They are: Addiction Counseling Club, Apparel Technologies Club, DAM - Design Associates of MCTC, Engineering Club, H.E.R.B. Club - Herbal Enrichment for Restoring Balance, Math Club, Media Generation, Network Security Unleashed, Polysomnography Club, Public Safety Careers Student Association (PSCSA), Science Club, Skills USA, Student Nurses Association, Student Sound Synthesis Society, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Alumni will attend a variety of events and activities that will offer time to socialize and enjoy the company of fellow alumni. They can join the MCTC Speakerís Bureau and share their profession with current MCTC students; join the MCTC Alumni Advisory Committee that will help other alumni stay connected or get re-connected. The Alumni Association also offers special discounts on Continuing Education courses.
