Minnesota State University Moorhead offers challenging academics combined with innovation and tradition. It offers programs from College of Arts and Humanity, College of Business and Industry, College of Social and Natural Sciences, College of Education and Human Services. The University provides exceptional teaching from faculty committed to their students and real-world experiences in and out of the classroom. Students can earn the Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's degrees and Certificate programs. Some of them are offered online.


Minnesota State University Moorhead has the department of athletics that encourages and endorses the goals and objectives of the university. It serves to meet the competitive and educational needs of the student-athlete, generate a positive image of the university. The department provides the needed resources to field competitive teams in all sports within the NSIC and the NCAA Div. II; provides the resources to help its student-athletes maintain high academic standards and become better students and citizens of the campus and the community. The University offers men's sports: basketball, cross country, football, wrestling. Women's sports are: basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, diving, tennis, volleyball.


Students at Minnesota State University Moorhead are provided with housing. It provides housing for summer workshops, seminars, camps or conferences. It provides double or dingle accommodation rooms. The University offers different options for meal plans. It offers plans that go by meals/week, and also offers meals/semester block plans. There are also snack/vending machines for students use. MSUM has partnered with a transportation company that is called Jefferson Lines, to bring daily bus service to and from Minneapolis to the MSUM campus. The campus has a parking area but students must have parking permits which are available on campus.


Computer labs, a big library, well-equipped classrooms are offered for students at the campus.

Health & Safety

Minnesota State University Moorhead provides students with health services. It has the Wellness Center that provides an opportunity for an active and healthy lifestyle to become a focus of campus culture. There is the Hendrix Health Center that supports academic success and personal development through the integration of health education and clinical treatment of illness. Massage services are also available. On the whole, the campus offers such services as: medical clinic, women's clinic, psychiatric services, counseling services, pharmacy services, laboratory services.


A great number of students study at MSUM. Representing over 53 countries, about 380 international students study at the University which welcomes international students by offering in-state tuition for all international students. All students are involved in different clubs and organizations that can help students find many ways to meet new people, improve the leadership skills, build self-esteem, take on more responsibility, and accomplish goals that will enhance the future. They include: Accounting Club, Admin Management Society, Alpha Psi Omega, Amer College/Healthcare Exec, American Marketing Assoc, American Studies Club, Anthropology Club, Association Computing Machin, Biology Club-Tri Beta, Chemistry Club, Construction Management Soci, Criminal Justice Association, Distributive Ed Club of Amer, Dragon's Society Social Work, Economic Society, Education MN Student Program, Energy Management Society, English Club, Financial Management Association, Geography Club, History Club, Hotel Sales & Marketing, Industrial Studies Club, Industrial Technology Club, International Business Club, IOTA Alpha Fraternity, Legal Assist Student Association, Marlowe Wegner Indus Studies, Math Club, MEISA, NSSLHA/Collegiate Sertoma, Photo Guild, Pi Sigma Epsilon, Pre-Med Club, Pre-professional Club, PRSSA, Psi Chi Psychology, Society of Physics Students, Society of Prof Journalists, Speech and Debate, Student Advisor, Student Counc/Exceptio Child, Student Social Work Club, Women Unlimited (Phy-Ed Maj). Minnesota State University Moorhead doesn't provide its students with off-campus housing. International students are not required to live on-campus. The University can provide students with resources on how to find off-campus housing.

Alumni & Post-Grad

There is an Alumni Foundation at MSUM that works for all wlumni of the University. It allows every alumnus to find a friend, stay connected through different alumni events and meetings. Alumni may register online to visit online alumni community. The Alumni Association offers the career services, clubs and organizations, sports.

Jobs & Internship

The Career Services at MSUM are aimed at helping students and graduates in making the transition from student to professional. The services help students and alumni with the transition from the University to meaningful employment, graduate school and/or other life experiences. They include: - career information, exploration and planning; - resume and interview workshops; - graduate school preparation workshops; - individual appointments for resume and cover letter review, job search strategy consultation, mock interviews, and review of graduate school application materials; - Fairs and Events meetings with employers for networking, career advice, internships, jobs; - InterviewStream: practice interviewing online with web cam.
