The Temple University Fort Washington (TUFW) offers educational programs for people of different ages. Fort Washington campus offers graduate degrees in business, computer engineering, education, pharmacy and liberal arts. The campus in Fort Washington was designed to serve adult professional graduate students and the educational needs of businesses in the area.


The Temple University's sports teams are the Owls. All sports teams participate in the NCAA's Division I and are primary members of the Atlantic Ten Conference (A-10), with the notable exception of football, which transitioned into the Mid-American Conference from being a I-A Independent. The most popular Temple Owls teams are men's basketball team and women's basketball team. Besides the Independence Blue Cross Student Recreation Center provides 5,500 m? of fitness facilities. The Student Pavilion is also a multipurpose, 4-court field house that provides students with additional recreational space for volleyball, basketball, badminton, floor hockey, indoor soccer, tennis, golf, and much more.


At Temple University Fort Washington campus parking is free and available around the 401 and 425 Commerce buildings. Faculty and students are requested to park in designated spots in the lots surrounding the two buildings. For safety reason traffic lanes must be clear and accessible.


Fort Washington campus of Temple University is housed in two buildings and includes wireless technology in the 401 space, 14 well-equipped classrooms, four computer classrooms/labs with 112 computers with flat screen monitors, six videoconference rooms, two vending areas, administrative and faculty offices, and comfortable lobby areas. Students are offered wireless technology on campus that allows them to bring in their own laptops and browse the Web, send and receive emails and instant messages from anywhere in the 401 building. Besides all classrooms at Temple University Fort Washington are Internet ready. Computer Services offers a wide range of audiovisual equipment to faculty members who teach at Temple University Fort Washington. All rooms are equipped with an overhead, desktop podium and flip chart. Three computer classrooms and one open computer lab are available to students and faculty and to external organizations for educational training purposes. The computer classrooms and labs are equipped with a total of 101 computers, all with flat panel monitors. Temple University Ambler Library has a wealth of educational materials for both students and faculty. Temple University Libraries are linked together through the Online Catalog which is a single web-based gateway to all library resources. Scholars Information Network is linked with the Internet to provide nationwide searches for research materials as well. In order to use electronic resources in the library, a valid Temple ID is required.

Health & Safety

Security guard is on duty from Monday through Thursday until the building is closed (about 10 p.m.). A security guard is also scheduled for each weekend that classes are held. In case students have any problems on campus or need an escort to the parking lot, they may utilize the security guard as a resource.


Temple University Fort Washington campus serves almost 1,000 part-time, evening and weekend graduate students. A great number of them are adult professionals who choose Temple University Fort Washington for its quality graduate programs and its convenient location near their homes or workplaces. Students in Fort Washington campus are different in race, sex, backgrounds and views. So there are 240 clubs and organizations that provide outlets for all cultures and allow for socializing. The Temple News and WHIP are the most important and well-known. WHIP is a member-supported radio service of Temple University. The radio broadcasts on several relay radio stations throughout eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware. The schedule of the station is divided between classical music during the day and Real Jazz in the evening and over-night period. The Temple News (TTN) is the editorially independent weekly newspaper of Temple University. This newspaper prints 8,000 copies to be distributed primarily on Temple's Main Campus every Tuesday. The staff of 25, supported by more than 150 writers, is responsible for designing, reporting and editing the 20-page paper. There are 24 Greek Letter Organizations recognized by the Temple University as a part of the Temple University Greek Association. Temple's Greek Life community has more than doubled in population in the last year and has seen an addition of ten newly recognized organizations in the past year. Temple University Greek Association sponsored 3 awards at the First Annual Temple University Diamond Awards: Greek Man Of The Year, Greek Woman Of The Year, & Greek Chapter Of The Year.

Alumni & Post-Grad

Temple University's Fort Washington campus has an active, diverse community of alumni and friends. Being a member of that community, alumni are encouraged to take part in campus events, to keep the staff informed of where the alumni of the University are, what they are doing, and how the University can best serve their interests. The goal of the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs is to create an always-open bridge between the campus and our alumni and friends.

Jobs & Internship

Temple University offers the externship and internship programs that are open to all Temple students who have a 2.0 or higher grade point average and will have completed 15 semester hours at the start of the program. These programs are designed to aid students in making informed career decisions based on practical experience and are great opportunities for students who would like to try out a career field or get experience in a field they plan on obtaining a degree in. Temple University is also ready to provide students with different job opportunities and encourages students to become a member of the Temple community. Besides the staff of the University is ready to help their students in writing resumes, preparing for the interview and for successful job searching.
