Those students who use the library must show a valid MyBC Card when checking out books. This Cards are made in the library. Students are normally limited to six books checked out at any one time; there are some exceptions for students enrolled in Honors courses. Continuing education students, non-students, as well as Texshare Card students from other colleges are limited to two books at any one time. Library staff members assist faculty, staff and students in acquiring interlibrary loan materials needed in support of the educational program; non-students are not eligible for interlibrary loans. Brazosport College students use equipment similar to that used in business and industry; class size allows a 1:1 student to computer ratio in the campus computer labs. The college's chemical processing lab facility affords hands-on training in plant operations. Telecourse and computer transmission of classes also allows offering of popular courses such as history, government, psychology and sociology via local public television channels; and English, history and chemistry via the Internet. Brazosport College also has a network to broadcast telecourses from the campus to area high schools, and to the community.

Health & Safety

There are over 150 fire extinguishers on campus. Each classroom, administrative office area, and mechanical room has a fire extinguisher. Students must know the location of the fire extinguishers near their office or classroom. Emergency exits are clearly marked with overhead, red exit markers. Know the closest exit in the event of fire and become familiar with posted evacuation floor-plan charts in the area. College personnel are responsible for pointing out exit signs and evacuation routes to students in their classes or employees under their supervision. Should a fire condition exist, an audible alarm will sound.

There are two official organizations in Brazosport College: 1. Mystery History Club this club is for all students enrolled in Brazosport College courses. It attempts to solve historical mysteries using a variety of techniques. 2. Phi Theta Kappa - an international honor society for two-year colleges. Individuals who join this organizations receive three major benefits: recognition for academic achievement, an enhanced opportunity to gain transfer scholarships, and the chance to interact with other members of Phi Theta Kappa while contributing to the college and community.

Alumni & Post-Grad

The Brazosport College Alumni Association promotes the welfare and interests of Brazosport College. Its website keeps students informed of special events of the college, activities of other alumni, respond to questions through e-mail, and to encourage more participation from other alumni. Membership in the Alumni Association is free and open to all graduates and former students. It encourages student's involvement by sending questions, comments, or ideas on how it is possible to build a successful future, together for Brazosport College.

Jobs & Internship

The Career Services Cafe is open Monday through Friday. There are computers available for students' use and access to a printer. Or come in a look at the collection of transfer materials. The Cafe has transfer guides for several colleges as well as catalogs and brochures from many more. Students can use eDiscover to explore different careers and occupations. Computers are available for use anytime the center is open. A new addition to the career services is an online service that allows students and alumni to practice interviewing and create resumes.
