Academics

Hartford Seminary offers a variety of graduate level educational options including graduate certificates and degrees. Each program is designed to both meet the needs of our diverse student body and offer an outstanding educational experience. The enrollment options include: part-time study, full-time study, and non-matriculated students. Hartford Seminary welcomes students who wish to try out our courses without formally enrolling in a graduate certificate or degree program. There are two options for non-matriculated students, special student status or audit status.

Campus

Hartford Seminary offers several modest living spaces to students with housing needs. Housing at Hartford Seminary allows students to be a part of a diverse community while engaged in their studies. Each student that lives in the housing has their own private bedroom and shares common areas with their housemates. Bedrooms vary in size from 18’x13’ to 9.5’x11’, and are assigned on a first-come first-served basis. Common areas include a kitchen, bathroom(s), living room and dining area. Kitchens come with donated cooking items such as basic pots, pans, dishes, utensils, coffee-maker, and microwave. Grocery stores, pharmacies and other shopping areas are easily accessed by bus. These stores are a short bus ride from the Seminary, and the bus stop is located within two blocks of the on-campus housing. The kitchen and café dining area are located between the Meeting Room and the Chapel in the main building at 77 Sherman Street. Students may use the refrigerator in the kitchen to store their food items when necessary. The microwave and conventional oven/stove are also available for student use. Parking is available in three parking lots. There is no fee for student parking at Hartford Seminary and no parking sticker is required.

Facilities

The Library's primary users, the students and faculty of Hartford Seminary, enjoy full access to the library's collections and services. The Library participates in a reciprocal borrowing agreement by which the faculty of participating CCALD libraries may borrow books according the the CCALD Policy. Many users, including students from area colleges and universities, benefit from the Library's collection by means of Interlibrary Loan from their home library.

Alumni & Post-Grad

Hartford Seminary's Alumni/ae Council is an elected group of people who serve on a voluntary basis as ambassadors between our alumni/ae and the Seminary. The Council’s purpose is to carry on the work of the Alumni/ae Association of Hartford Seminary by strengthening the Seminary through its relationship with the alumni/ae. The council arranges the alumni events, searches the lost alumni, and serves as the center for those willing to give or volunteer at Hartford Seminary.
