From the college:
Excellent preparation in English, in a foreign language, or in another field is recognized by allowing students to begin their college work at a level representative of their attainment. Granting of advanced standing and/or academic credit for college-level work in secondary schools is a departmental function dependent upon the results of the College Board Advanced Placement Exams. Credit for comparable Coe courses, as well as advanced standing, will be granted to students who receive scores of 4 or 5 on Advanced Placement Exams offered by the College Board. No college grade will be assigned when credit is granted on the basis of Advanced Placement Exams. Students who believe their pre-college work may have prepared them for advanced placement with or without credit are urged to call this to the attention of the college so that their achievements may be evaluated.
