Advanced Placement Program® (AP) Information

AP Credit and Placement Policy

  • Offers credit for AP Exams:Yes
  • Offers placement into higher-level courses for AP Exams: Yes
  •
  • From the college:
  • Drexel recognizes the value of earning superior scores on Advanced Placement Examinations and rewards students who do so. Students who demonstrate high proficiency on AP Examinations find a greater range of course possibilities, intellectual enrichment, and academic advancement than that available to students who have not earned AP credit. Students who earn a score of 4 or 5 on any Advanced Placement Examination administered by the College Board may elect, at their option and with the approval of their academic advisor, either to be placed in an advanced course in the subject of their AP, or to substitute another course or credit-bearing activity in its place. Although AP credits may not be substituted for Drexel course credits required for graduation, AP credits create options for students within the overall credit requirements for graduation in their major, allowing them to experience subjects more deeply, or gain a greater range of knowledge.
