For admission decisions:

SAT or ACT writing component will be used as follows:

  • SAT Reasoning/ACT score report due by: 15-JAN
  • SAT Subject score report due by: 15-JAN
Other test policies:
    SAT Subject Tests in English, math, and language recommended for placement. SAT Subject Tests in biology and chemistry recommended for nursing and science majors.

Advanced Placement Program® (AP) Information


AP Credit and Placement Policy

  • Offers credit for AP Exams:Yes
  • Offers placement into higher-level courses for AP Exams: Yes

  • From the college:
  • Fairfield University will award three or four hours credit toward graduation for each AP course taken by a student provided that the student has taken an Advanced Placement Exam prepared by the College Board program and obtained an exam score of 4 or 5. It is the discretion of college/school officials to determine if such AP credits can be used to exempt students from specific University courses or requirements. Normally, AP credit will not exempt a student from requirements in his/her major. No student will be awarded more than a total of 15 AP credits by Fairfield University.
