Advanced Placement Program® (AP) Information

AP Credit and Placement Policy

  • Offers credit for AP Exams:Yes
  • Offers placement into higher-level courses for AP Exams: Yes
  •
  • From the college:
  • The admission committee encourages students to take the most challenging course work offered in their high school. Often, Advanced Placement courses are among the courses considered at the highest level of difficulty at a particular high school. The admission committee at Franklin & Marshall evaluates AP courses on an applicant's transcript in this light. An applicant is not required to sit for an AP exam for each AP course taken. However, students who choose to also take the AP exam, and who score a 4 or 5, may be eligible for an award of college credit.
