National Merit Scholarships; $5,000; to National Merit Finalists whose first choice college is Macalester and who are offered admission. DeWitt Wallace Distinguished Scholarships; minimum $3,000; open to National Merit semifinalists, commended students, and finalists not awarded National Merit Scholarship. DeWitt Wallace Scholarships; minimum $3,000; to selected middle-income students who need assistance to attend Macalester and whose academic records have shown them to be worthy of recognition. Catherine Lealtad Scholarships; minimum $3,000; to African American, Latino, and Native American students with strong high school records. Students who are National Achievement or National Hispanic Scholarship finalists and who have achieved a strong high school record will receive a minimum annual award of $5,000.
