Advanced Placement examinations taken in or after fall 2004 will receive three semester hours of credit for a score of 3 and six semester hours of credit for scores of 4 or 5. No more than eight semester hours of credit in any one subject area can be earned by AP testing, and no more than twenty hours total can be earned. The University of Southern Mississippi awards credit for the following AP tests: Studio Art: Drawing; Biology (scores of 4 or 5 only); Chemistry; Computer Science; Economics, Macro (three hours credit only); English, Language or Literature; French, Language or Literature; German; Government and Politics, US or Comparative (three hours credit only); History, U.S.; History, European; Latin; Calculus; Music Theory; Spanish, Language or Literature; Physics; Psychology.
