Ford Motor is an American multinational corporation based in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. Ford is currently the second largest automaker in the U.S. and the fourth-largest in the world based on number of vehicles sold annually. Besides the Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury brands, Ford also owns Volvo Cars in Sweden, and a small stake in Mazda in Japan and Aston Martin in the UK.

Program:

The Ford Minority Dealer Operations (MDO) Summer Intern Program provides hands-on, career-specific experience to minority college students through full-time, paid internships.  Employment is during summer break – generally between May and August – at a Ford Motor Company dealership. 

Program goals: expose talented students to careers in automotive retailing and Ford Motor Company; provide students with challenging work assignments in the areas of accounting, sales, parts and service management in retail dealership operations; provide a resource to our dealer body of talented, motivated, high-achieving students for summer employment; provide a source of potential middle managers and dealers for employment/investment opportunities in Ford and Lincoln Mercury dealerships and Ford Motor Company.
